Abstract
The economic essence of the concept of “sustainable development”, adapted to modern conditions of the global crisis. Based on the analysis of existing views on the world and national literature, the basic principles of sustainable development of the economy. It is concluded that the strategy of sustainable development should be based on the achievement of harmony between people, society and nature, defined conceptual directions of sustainable development of the country.
