Abstract
In the 21st century, the issue of national security in relation to the actions of terrorist organizations remains relevant. With the development of digital and information and communication technologies, traditional hierarchical approaches in the fight against the enemy are not effective. New strategies and tools are needed that can identify decentralized structures, consisting of a number of loosely connected individuals, that allow modeling the structure and connections of a terrorist organization. Such a modern analytical tool is the analysis of social networks, as it allows you to establish social connections between people. The article provides an overview of the history of social network analysis and its use in understanding the organization of terrorist networks and establishing existing and potential connections of terrorist organizations.
