Abstract

The article is aimed at researching the possibilities of self-development of the northern subjects of the Russian Federation, to which the Republic of Komi belongs. It is shown that the self-development of territorial socio-economic systems is a modern paradigm of territorial development, according to which the territories should strive for economic growth from their own resources. An approach is proposed to improve the efficiency of using its own resource potential in the context of limited financial resources through the establishment of the Timber Industry Cluster in the Komi Republic.
