Dagestan is an ethnocultural region with a fairly stable system of traditions, the reproduction of which occurs through family channels of socialization, but at the same time it is included in the globalization processes, and therefore it seems important to consider the problem of forming a family culture of the Dagestan youth. The subject of sociological comprehension is the family culture of youth, without which it is difficult to imagine the development of a prosperous family in society, in the presence of negative phenomena such as the growth of devorces in young families, families, family violence, single-parent families, the decline of moral values.

In this article the gender specifics of family culture of modern Dagestan youth are considered. Empirical verification is allowed to come to the conclusion that there are not fundamental gender differences in the family culture of the youth of Dagestan, with the exception of the evaluation of the archaic intentions in the development of family and marriage sector of the Dagestan society, and also to prove that the modernization of family values and norms, penetrating into the family culture of the youth of Dagestan do not affect its basic grounds, which ensures stable and relatively safe development of the family sector of the Dagestan society.
