The article is devoted to the analysis of the factors in the formation of professional dynasties of doctors in the Soviet period and the benefits of professional continuity of the medical profession. In the Soviet period, dynasty served as an example of intergenerational reproduction of a social position, and representatives of dynasties were not only carriers of tradition and continuity of professional knowledge and skill, but also acquired moral values, such as love and respect for work, for a person. Based on a retrospective analysis of the biographical essays of medical dynasties, the indisputable advantages of the formation of the dynasty of the medical profession are highlighted. At the same time, professional dynasty is not a cyclical process and violation of the mechanism of reproduction of the profession can lead to a crisis of professional dynasty in the field of healthcare.

In the framework of an integrative activity approach to the examination of the essence and structure of the motivation of work (E.P. Ilyin) and on the materials of applied sociological research "Professional identity of representatives of societal professions in conditions of precariatizing social and labor relations in Russian megalopolises" (2017), the article analyzes the main motives for professional choice and the prestige level of the medical profession in the assessment of doctors of Russian megalopolises. The questionnaires and interviews were attended by doctors from city budget hospitals in Moscow and Kazan.

The article analyzes the nature of the professional identity of doctors in Moscow on the basis of sociological research materials. Socio-group, structural and typological features of the professional identity of doctors are revealed in conditions of precariatization of social and labor relations in Russian society. The analysis of doctors' perception of their social and economic situation, the nature of their work motivation, the profile of identification practices and values, allows us to conclude that pseudo-positive professional identity among the Moscow doctors is prevalent with diffusivity elements.
