The article is dedicated to Professor F. I. Potashev’s historic research historiography standard setting criteria assumed as the basis to the textbook "History of State Administrating in Russia" (2010), as well as to two of his monographs "How the Russian Empire from Peter the I Romanov to Hottorp Nickolas II during 200 Years was being Ruled" (2014) and "Soviet State Administrating: ascent to Socialism" (2015). Also in the article historiographic analysis of his tetralogy is carried out.
