The article analyzes the evolution of mass consciousness in relation to such notions as heroism, self-sacrifice in the name of Motherland, moral values of the people. It happens in the author’s opinion, to a large extend because of unreasoned state communicational policy, failing on the part of mass medic of fulfilling such social function as culture forming, educational, instructive, integrative, etc.
