The article examines threats to national security of Russia in military domain and investigates political mechanisms of their parry. It has been established that the main actors of military politics are governmental institutions, but under the conditions of “hybrid” wars non governmental subjects are gaining considerable significance.

In article actual problems of a homeland security of the country in the conditions of modern calls and threats are considered. The role and place of defense industry complex, its structures, such as the Military-industrial commission, in development and realization of strategy of a homeland security is defined.

The article deals with the geopolitical threat to the military component of national security. It also defines main political stages of geopolitical modernization of Westphalia model of international relations. It is noted that the US attempts to develop a unipolar world bring a serious threat to the military security of the Russian Federation. It makes Russia to strengthen its military-industrial comlex.
